Sonauto is now Treblo

We've changed our name from Sonauto to Treblo and moved to treblo.com. Your account, your songs, and your shared links all still work.

Sonauto is now Treblo. We're the same four people working towards the same goal, and everything in your library is where you left it. The new address is treblo.com.

If you came here from a sonauto.ai link, you're in the right place. This post covers what's new and why.

Why we changed the name

We picked "Sonauto" early, back when we were a research project, and it fit less and less as we grew. People couldn't pronounce it ("Son-auto? Sono-to?") and kept mistyping it into the address bar, which makes for a hard name to recommend to a friend. It also sounded too technical. That suited a model fine, but we're building a way to play with music, and we wanted a name that fit that goal better.

Treblo comes from treble, the top end of a sound where the melody usually lives. It's short, and easy to say. And the little bird in the corner of the app must like it more, since he's now showing a friendlier face.

What's changing

  • The domain. sonauto.ai is now treblo.com. Old links redirect, so anything you've already shared keeps working, but update your bookmarks when you get a chance.
  • The name everywhere else: the app, the logo, and our social accounts.
  • The API host. Developers should point at api.treblo.com. The old api.sonauto.ai host still resolves for now, but please migrate when you can. The developer docs list the current endpoints.

What's not changing

  • Your account. Same login and password; you don't need to do anything.
  • Your songs. Every track you've made is still in your projects, every post is on your account.
  • Your shared links. Songs, playlists, and artist pages keep playing at their old URLs, which now redirect.
  • The team and the mission. Still the four of us, still answering our own support email, still trying to make music possible for the people who love it most.

Do I need to do anything?

For almost everyone, no. Open the app like always and keep making music. If you have bookmarks pointing at sonauto.ai, update them, and if you build on our API, plan a move to api.treblo.com.
